color code
I recently saw this idea floating around on the web (too lazy to find my inspiration photo now) and thought I'd give it a try in my own home. I've always been one to organize my books by subject, but I had no idea how nice it would look to have them organized by color! It makes me happy every time I walk into the room, I highly recommend doing this if you have some free time and are a nerd like me. Kate, do you recognize some of the titles?

oh my dear lord you are awesome andrea. It's so perfect for this book shelf. Mine are separated between two areas of my apartment and I don't think it would work at all. I mean, you have the perfect amount of books in each color, thats nuts!

thanks! i can't believe how well it worked out, but it is difficult to add anything (when you find books that weren't in the room) without re-doing it all. oops.
It looks so cool! I arrange books according to size. I couldn't handle changing now. I'd never be able to find anything.
I did this to one shelf a few months back and short of what Charlie pulls off on a daily basis it is still somewhat color coded. I don't know if I will continue it for the reason you mentioned above (adding new books) but it looks cool for now.
