heath s + p

I found these super cool vintage Heath salt + pepper shakers a few days ago. They seem way to big for salt + pepper but I love the way they look. The remind me of this Noguchi lamp which I also adore.

quite lovely

Irregular Flow, a beautiful little video I found on vimeo. Turn the sound on.

Back From the Dead

Sorry for my extreme absense. My life is all over the place right now and I wasn't exactly feeling inspired by much lately. But I finally got excited about something today! I saw this in the latest issue of Blueprint a while ago, but the website wasn't up until recenty.
Linkable Notebooks!
Notebooks that link together in the back to expand=genius. I love this idea so much. So cute.

chair one by konstantin grcic

I thought I'd seen plenty of cool modern chairs, then I met chair one by konstantin grcic. This chair caught my eye at design*sponge's sneak peek (a series of photos showing artists living spaces) posts.

This one is from Bryan Boyer who is an architecture student at harvard's graduate school of design. Check out more photos of his place here.
I love the way he's combined the organic eames chair with two of these very geometric chairs. It's not so matchy-matchy.

purchase the chair one here.

i love love love these gouache paintings and prints by matte stephens!

find them at etsy and velocity art and design (in Seattle) as well.

etsy sweeties

I'm back from Italy and have some fun finds from there, which I'll share soon. It was an awesome trip and it won't soon be forgotten. What's also fun to come home to is a whole slew of new posts from Kate!
While browsing Etsy.com I found the sweetest pieces from One Girl Designworks.
charming softies:

simple cards with a delightful sewing detail:

the prices are good too: $28 for the softies and $3.50 for the cards

Daniel Chang

I saw Daniel Chang's work in Communication Arts and my heart skipped a beat! Hot damn I like his work.
Check it out: Daniel Chang.

Nostalgia

It's a little suburban housewife, but I kind of love Viva Terra's Vintage Ruler Chair, made from-you guessed it-vintage rulers. I think 1 chair placed in a hallway or somewhere random would be great. A whole set around a table? Ridiculous.

i heart you

a few good deals

Sorry for my extreme absensce. Without Andrea around, this place seems slightly pointless. When will you be home Andrea Jean?!
Hopefully I can make up for it with a few posts this afternoon..

A few good deals I found:

cb2 eclipse pendant lamp, $30
. Such a simple, sleek pendant lamp.

cb2 roller shade, $35
. I'm thinking of grouping a couple of these together for a room divider. Maybe.

Urban Outfitter's Mid-Century Sofa, $480
. I'm shocked this exists at Urban! Mid-Century has truly reached the masses.

Urban Outfitters Quatrefoil Printed Rug, on sale $20
. I want this for my wee little kitchen.

sunny shower

I don't have a real shower curtain in my bathroom. It's just clear vinyl, largely because there's no light in the shower area so a shower curtain would make for a very dimly lit creepy shower.
but if money were no object and light wasn't an issue, I'd spring for this one:

I think yellow is my new color, or maybe it's just in response to the 10 degree weather currently?

Blueprint Magazine, one of my new favorites for the nesting girly-girl within me, has a blog now: Bluelines.

For the perfectly acceptable drunk in you

I personally reccomend to the bartender within you from Crate & Barrel the Mini Cocktail Shaker Set, and the Silicone Ice Cube Tray, both of which I use often. Well, not too often. A perfectly acceptable amount of often.

Thirsty?

I'm constantly getting up in the wee hours of the morning for a glass of water, so perhaps a beside carafe from cb2 aint too bad of an idea.

Seeing colors

Pantone plates, Pantone Paint, and now Pantone-colored cell phones in Japan.
Quite frankly I think I see enough pantone action at work. But the phone is pretty rad. Why does Japan get to have all the gadget fun?

Jack

Like any girl, I'm a sucker for pictures of kittens, but good pictures of kittens get extra points. Love these photos by artist Sarah Pedro, who happens to be my soon to be sister-in-law.

sock monkey & good-bye

Here's a much cuter take on the classic sock monkey. The original has sentimental value and is quite endearing, but lets face it, it's not the cutest monkey you've seen. You can find this little guy, created by Clarissa Steele here at Mahar Drygoods.

R & I are off to Italy today, so I'll be taking a break from the blog for the next week. Take it away, Kate! I'll be sharing lots of goodies when I return.

Ciao!
