Brendan Monroe

I went to Printed Matter today and drooled over books and saw handmade books that impressed me 80 times more than all the art at the gazillion galleries went to today. It was hard to not buy everything I loved but I settled for just one little book by artist Brendan Monroe. The book is incredibly clever because it has a poster in the middle that’s folded up and tied to the book. I didn’t notice it until I took it home and wondered why there was an extra piece of string on the binding. This is such a simple, easy way to make a little book so much more special.
