Did you guys know that Spize Jonze is directing a film adaptation of Where The Wild Things Are?!
I've been an obsessive Maurice Sendak fan since my grandma first took me to see the Nutcracker when I was 5 (he did all the set design for the Pacific Northwest Ballet's version- absolutely amazing) and my mom's nightly readings of Where The Wild Things Are to my brother.

YES! so excited for this movie. there was some sneakpeak floating around online a few weeks ago. it looks absolutely magical!
And the screenplay was adapted by none other than Dave Eggers. I'm not sure it could get much better. Can't wait!

Hold up, though - there's a brouhaha going on about the current cut of the film. Seems the studio suits are unhappy with test screenings and think the film is too dark and scary for kids. There's even talk of completely reshooting it! Needless to say, there's already a couple Facebook groups to "Save the Wild Things."
