Dia:Beacon
While my little vacation ended up being a bust (it was an everything that can go wrong, will go wrong vacation) Dia:Beacon ended up being worth the stress of the rest of the trip. It was breath taking, and we agreed that we have never seen art in a more beautiful place in our lives.
If you do go my reccommendation to you is to go for a day trip as the closest town with affordable hotels sucks big time. Either take the Metro-North up or better yet rent a car and drive up as it’s only an hour and half away from nyc. Since we went up on July 4th everything in the surrounding town was closed, so I can’t vouch for what it has to offer.
