I’ve been completely in love with the idea of making a paper crane garland ever since I saw one here on The Selby. But if the idea of hand-making all that origami hurts your fingers just thinking about it, how fantastic is this paper crane light from Dutch design studio Tas-Ka? I’m crazy about it! It comes in white, black, and a smaller multi-colored version.
My new glasses are a big change for me and feel really weird, but I love them. Close-up is on flickr, as I feel way too weird posting a giant photo of my face here. I actually feel really weird posting a photo of myself here at all:)
I don’t recommend the 14th St Moscot location, by the way. I did not get my glasses Friday as I went there and they put the wrong perscription in them and they were really rude to me. I picked the remade glasses up on Orchard St yesterday and they were much, much more professional there.
Have a great weekend everyone. Thanks to your positive response to the Moscot glasses, I went and picked a pair out today (the faded pair)! I nearly fainted when they said they’d be ready tonight! I’m used to crappy Lens Crafters (back before I got optical insurance, holla!) who takes weeks and weeks. I’ll post photos. They are a HUGE change for me!!

This is the worst photo ever due to early morning back-lighting through that damn window and my camera being awful at taking low-light photos, but you get the idea of my new desk! We scooped it, along with a matching side table, up at a local prop house last weekend. The woman gave us a quick estimate, which made our jaws drop at the deal she was giving, and then she started pulling the drawers out and realized the deal was too good. Luckily there was no turning back:)
Also, smokey the bear is finally framed! This weekend, when the light is better, I’ll take better living room photos. You can see a few more bad photos of the desk here for now. Ha.
The one good thing about winter ending soon in the fashion world, but not in the real world is the big huge sales on fall/winter clothing. My latest drool-worthy sale is at Oak. I still shouldn’t really be spening their sale prices, but 60% off of “investment pieces” (that’s what we tell ourselves, anyway) is pretty tempting.
How awesome is this idea of using an array of clipboards to display art? A. I love clipboards more than you could imagine, and B. I have a lot of little prints and postcards that I love, but don’t particularly want to frame.
