homeward bound
I just booked tickets to Seattle today for May! After weeks of searching I basically found a Jet Blue miracle where these particular dates (and those dates only) were over $100 cheaper. This is what diligence will get you, friends. Anyway, I’m excited that my trip will include seeing Andrea’s soon-to-be-born baby (eeee!!!!) and taking a second crack at showing Billy the city – which I failed miserably at last time. My grandma has already coordinated a family portrait session (I’m not joking, I bought the tickets only hours ago) and my uncle is flying in from LA. I feel like a movie star.
Here are some photos from my flickr contacts that make me ready ready ready! (click on the image to go to the flickr page)
Jaclyn Mayer

Amazing necklaces from Jaclyn Mayer to add to the growing list of awesome fabric necklaces.

DIY awesome

In the fantasy world inside my head, I’m crafty enough to turn cool bowls into pendant lamps. In that world I also speak Dutch and don’t have to use google translator for that seemingly awesome website. Oh and I have a puppy.

ladies night

Oh how I love Keren Ann. Since Billy started grad school, he has school all night Mondays and Tuesdays, so many of those nights have been spent listening to music I know he’s not much into. Keren Ann, Simon & Garfunkel, Joanna Newsom, on repeat. I also watch movies like Funny Girl and Waitress.
(please ignore the weird visuals and just use it for the song)
Bits of my weekend

I had such a wonderful weekend that I’m having a hard time being a very happy, productive person today because I’m going through good weekend withdrawls. Nearly 60 degrees, sunny, saw good friends and good art, had a nice balance of alone time and boyfriend time – I am so excited for the winter to be over! Aren’t you?

I like these two a lot
The Year My Parents Went On Vacation

If you haven’t seen it yet, The Year My Parents Went On Vacation is bittersweetly heartwarming, and incredibly beautiful. I can’t get it out of my head.
a brief friday
I hope you all have a wonderful weekend. My heart is a bit heavy right now after getting back from my coworker’s mother’s funeral, but there is so much to do at work I’ll just distract myself with that.
I’m so busy I didn’t even have time to look for a friday flickr photo, so I dug up an oldie. It makes me think of Andrea because she gave me the coral, and I photographed it and gave her the prints. Don’t you all miss that girl? I believe she owes us all a pregnancy update! :)
Nothing more today, but I’m planning on pulling something fun together for the Truant blog this weekend that you can enjoy even if you’re not in New York, so check it out tomorrow.
