Vintage science & tech ads. Awesome. Besides being designed so nicely, I love how they each seem like an inside science nerd joke. “No one told Gus Hoglund you couldn’t weld aluminum” sounds like a line from a David Cross joke.

Organized collection is the best flickr group I’ve seen in a long time. How did I not know about this before now? I want to run home and make little collections. When I’m on the phone while sitting at a desk, I organize everything into little collections on my desk without thinking. Everything has to line up perfectly, I should start taking photos of them.

Happy anniversary, love of my life. On one hand I can’t believe it’s already been two years, and on the other hand, I can’t believe it’s only been two years. I feel like I’ve known you forever. Top 5 reasons I love you: 1. You have an awesome beard, a welcome addition to the relationship in the past year 2. You are the most driven person I know and will no doubt in my mind suceed in life 3. You never let problems in our relationship slip through the cracks – you always make us stop and solve them 4. You are a neat freak. No girl can deny the awesomeness in that. 5. You came to my work in the middle of the day last week just to surprise me with my favorite candy bar. Just one of many examples of how you treat me so damn good.

I discovered Fever Ray this weekend on Pitchfork and Billy and I are hooked. The solo album of Karin Elisabeth Dreijer Andersson of The Knife, I dig the sound a lot more than The Knife. This video is super trippy and it probably doesn’t help that I’m technically still sleeping right now. I’m also obsessively listening to the new Animal Collective, which I know has been out for a few months, but it took me a few ipod listens walking to work to realize it’s pure brilliance. I don’t know if anything will top this in ’09. My Girls makes me heart race with excitement, and I didn’t think their lyrics could ever make me feel all mushy inside like these do. I’m sure you’ve seen this but hey, you should listen if you haven’t.
