 A perfect bathing suit

I’m not a fan of J. Crew usually, but their bathing suits are pretty great. How perfect is this one? It’s not too terribly expensive either, and is a retro one-piece, my favorite.

Thank you camp comfort for bring this gem to my attention. It’s going to be 80 this weekend, maybe a trip to the beach aint a bad idea?

The Weekly What What: Let’s Sleep Like Babies…

April 22nd, 2009

From a new series I’m working on that I like best because I get to use my photos!

Prints will be for sale real real soon. I had no idea how picky I would be about opening an Etsy shop. You truly are your own worst client.

Bachelorette

April 22nd, 2009

Today Meg sent me Bachelorette’s album, Isolation Loops, and I’m in LOVE. It’s amazing. I’ve already managed to listen to it three times in the last five hours. This video is super trippy and isn’t necessarily my favorite song on the album, but it’s all youtube can provide. My favorite song is “Holding Back One”. Apparently they’re coming to New York and playing at Cake Shop in June, which is 4 blocks from my apartment and I can’t say no to such things.

The Ace Palm Springs Shoe and Tote

The Ace Hotel Palm Springs, Generic Surplus and Arkitip teamed up to release a mesh shoe and tote bag set. The shoes look awesome, and seem perfect for those hot summer days when your feet need to breathe. I love the little detail of the green heel pull and the red eyelet at the top.
Available for pre-order here at Arkitip, shipping in July.

Saturday was the most glorious, hottest day of the year – 76 and not a cloud in the sky. My allergies were unbearable but I doped myself up on zyrtec and stumbled my way through the weekend – so I didn’t pull my camera out as much. Sunday was supposed to rain but the weather god smiled on us and brought another nice day. We ripped the plastic winter insulation off our bedroom window and slept with the breeze on our heads. I wish the summer would never get hotter than that, then I’d be yearning for summer right now.

Happy Weekend!

I am so excited to walk around the city until my feet fall off tomorrow in the sweet, sweet sunshine. I forsee lots of wonderful picture taking opportunities (hopefully.)

As a side note for those who care about this SUPER IMPORTANT topic, I didn’t end up getting this jacket because after seeing it in person, I was not impressed. Jennifer, you were totally right, the fabric was not what I thought it would be. It felt like fake silk – like I would be a walking ’80s music video. So I was defeated in the jacket search again until today, when my tax return came at the same time that I found an awesome vintage jacket at Nasty Gal for half the price of the Pixie Market one. I also bought these sandals, which I’m pumped about.

(end of important topic)

Have a wonderful, wonderful weekend! I have so many awesome drawings and booklets in the works right now it makes my heart race with creative excitement. Part of me wants to cancel on my friends tonight to go home and sew booklets, but that would be crossing a nerd line.

All you need is love (and sunshine)

All you need is love (and sunshine)

This weather puts me in the warmest, fuzziest mood. This morning I was walking to work and saw this mom singing to her toddler daughter, “Good Morning” from my favorite movie ever, Singin’ In The Rain, and I resisted the urge to skip up and join in on the song.

While we’re on the subject of warm and fuzzy, have you seen this video of the woman singing on Britain’s Got Talent? P is right, You will jump out of your seat and start pumping your arm, Arsenio-style at the end. You will probably tear up a little. You will hug the nearest person. You might briefly find Simon Cowell kind of sort of attractive and then quickly snap out of it.
