I feel like I’ve been light on posting quality lately, so I’ll leave you with a few Joanna-style Friday links:

Had some downtime at worked today so I watched some of this documentary on objectum-sexuals, and the woman who married the Eiffel Tower. It’s fascinating! (via Caroline)

The photo above is from this set, and now I’ve made it my new ebay hunting goal to find a Zeiss Ikoflex, as I am obsessed. Most amazing photos ever.

Love this baby a day photo series. I will do this one day! Maybe once a week though. Wouldn’t it be amazing if you did this for your entire life? That thought blows my mind. (via swissmiss)

Recent lowbrow addictions: lamebook.com and probablybadnews.com

BSG fans, does this frighten you as much as it does me?

And finally, I can’t believe baby Audrey is 5 months old already.

I have awesome friends

The every amazing Samantha Hahn just sent me the BEST THING EVER! A drawing of Wendy and I, based off of this funny photo.

How fantastic is it? I feel so lucky to have such awesome friends.

I just bought the coolest thing ever on etsy. Vintage arrows from sweetshorn. My mind is racing with all the things I could do to display them! There are two more sets available. Ok, shopping ban seriously needs to go back into effect after yesterday and today. Seriously.

Thank you, Alyson! (I feel like I’m thanking a lot of people today, I swear I’ll find my own things soon.)

Erin, you are awesome.

The Swell Season

Did you see the movie Once? It was one of those movies I went to see without knowing much about it, and walked out of the theater in a happy, happy daze. The soundtrack was on repeat for me for a while after seeing it, and I’m super happy to hear that they’re coming out with a follow-up album due in late October. But until then you can hear and watch them on NPR’s Tiny Desk Series here. The songs are unbelievably lovely. I love how different their voices are, but compliment each other perfectly. Oh and who doesn’t love that they fell in love on the set of the movie and kept making music?

Thanks, Chelsea!

Samantha Hahn Original Art

Samantha is having an original art sale over at her etsy shop, lots of lovely watercolor goodness. These are my two faves, perhaps because I don’t feel I’ve had a proper beach-filled summer yet and they remind me to get on that, stat!

vote for me!

3509546504 e58092ca1f vote for me!

pssst…my magical thinking print was nominated by some lovely people on etsy for the “What Would You Hang On Your Wall” poll. If you have an etsy account (you don’t have to be a seller) and a free moment, vote here! Thank you ever so much.

This reminds me that I promised you a redesigned, larger version of this print a while back and I never got to that, even though it is done! The prints have just taken a back seat lately but I hope to gain some creativity steam (and time) soon and get back to them. Sometimes I throw myself into too many different little projects at once and I need to focus on one thing at a time!

The Perfect Danish Terrarium

Last night we were walking with our friend Emily down Avenue A when she stopped mid-sentence to press her face against the glass of a boutique and squeal, pointing at a terrarium that she apparently has been on the hunt for. Oh it was indeed lovely, but of course the store was closed. But then today by some crazy luck I was browsing through Julia Rothman’s flickr page and came upon a picture of it, with a link! Things fall together like that sometimes. It’s pricey, and I know you can make your own easily, but oh so amazing.

Wow, Nicole Miller takes the most incredible photos. She has that Sally Mann-like touch to photographing children. I can’t believe that some of them are digital.
