My morning has started off crummy due to an early morning bummer of a dentist appointment (why are some dentists so mean?!) But Joanna has cheered me up by dropping me a note that Marais is having summer sale on their sandals!! I’ve had my eye on them for a while. I’m torn between the suede crosby’s in cobalt or the patent crosby’s in chestnut. Decisions, decisions.

I think that Jeffrey Campbell should start paying me for how much I talk about his shoes. He could pay me in shoes. Or puppies, whatevs. If he paid me in puppies I could help my friend Lauren fulfill her bucket list item of being in a room full of wall-to-wall adorable puppies alone for an hour (is it an hour, Lauren? Am I forgetting any more specifics? If I supply the puppies that Jeffrey Campbell pays me with, can I join you?)

After saying that I never see random pieces of wood laying around Manhattan, Billy and I came across a huge stack of some while drunkenly walking home Friday night in front of an elementary school. I mention that we were drunk because this is an important part of the story as the wood was DISGUSTING and we didn’t notice how gross it was until the next morning. I spent forever scrubbing and cleaning it off, then I attached a picture hanger onto the back, drilled holes into the front, and screwed hooks into it. Viola! A necklace display. Easy as pie and it looks awesome. I also bought this coral hook from Anthropologie on super sale to hold my chains.

So this leads me to also announce that this Thursday, August 6th, at roughly 7pm EST I will update the shop with 30 new necklaces! They sold out in 15 minutes last time, so be prepared. Or not, maybe the hype is over. ha. Brass drops necklaces will be $25, and the friendship necklaces will be $30-$35. Remember you can sign up for the mailing list if you need a reminder.

This weekend I barely left the apartment, except for a run to SoHo with Billy to get his beard trimmed (my favorite errand ever to run.) Billy worked nights both days so I set an insane goal for myself to make 22 necklaces. I smiled at your remarks Friday on taking it easy this weekend because I said I had no grand plans, but I meant I had no grand plans because they were not exciting! I worked my ass off, in between testing out my new mixer (amazing) and cleaning the hell out of the apartment because I needed a break here and there. My hand is a CLAW now, but they’re all done, and a heads up on when the shop update will be this week is coming later, along with with the results on that necklace display I made.
