Butterfly Chair

Last week was not my favorite, due to a lot of less than awesome things, and it let me a bit grumpy. So when the amazing guys at Circa50 (sellers of all things awesome for your home) told me that after hearing it was my birthday on Saturday, they wanted to bring me a present while they were making deliveries in New York, my obvious reaction was akin to one of those crazy excited people in the audience at The Price Is Right who get picked to play on the show. (True story: The summer between 6th and 7th grade I got up to watch The Price Is Right every morning with my brother. We were pathetic.) So when they were in town they came by and …

… I am now the proud owner of the most stunning butterfly chair ever! It’s medium brown leather with a painted black steel base, and this baby sure is pretty. It’s making my other furniture jealous. Circa50 has been making these chairs for years and years now, and you can see how incredibly well made it is. So far I like curling up in it with a book, as our little couch looks great, but isn’t the most conducive to curling up on. We were really in need of another chair in the living room, and it matches everything quite nicely. I’ve never had a piece of leather furniture before, so this is a good grown up birthday present! They have tons of options for these chairs (I also love the natural canvas with the black frame), and an ottoman, which I just may have to get down the road to match. Morgan of The Brick House posted about the awesomeness of butterfly chairs (she has two lovelies) recently, with a link to an interview with Circa50 on their history – I love hearing that the chairs are all crafted within 15 miles of their store. You may also know about my pining desire to have everything in The Brick House, so now I’m one step closer to being a creepy stalker with my matching chair, and then two steps closer after we finish (er..start?) building that pipe shelving. Shhhhh …

Thank you Steve and Jeff so much for the amazing present, I’m still in shock by your generosity.

our couch is from CB2 (it’s no longer made), pillows from DwellStudio, and metal basket from Three Potato Four.
