The always wonderful Martha of Uniform Studio launched her sustainable clothing line today, Uniform Natural. Of course it’s amazing, what else would you expect from her? Have you seen her home? Jealous worthy. When Martha emailed me yesterday about the line, I realized I’ve never blogged about her before. So this is a long overdue post! Shop those lovelies here. I just realized that yesterday was my four year anniversary in New York City! I have to say that the last four years have been insanely life changing. I feel like I’m only maybe 30% of the girl who first moved here. In the past four years I have lived in three boroughs, six different neighborhoods, and seven apartments (not counting some couch surfing I did for a week.) It’s so hard to imagine living anywhere else – I’m addicted to New York in a way. It’s nurtured me and helped me grow in so many ways, and I met the love of my life here. It’s not perfect, and some days I day dream about getting away from all the insanity, but right now – it’s exactly where I want and need to be.

The Shiny Squirrel is celebrating it’s two year anniversary, so in honor of the occasion when you spend $30 or more, you get a free gift! I’m especially in love with everything from Brooklyn Rehab, and these awesome prize ribbons.

Also in Shiny Squirrel news is that Jessica is opening a pop-up shop in Brooklyn at Corduroy Kid. It will run until January 15th, and the opening party is October 18th from noon to 3pm. Will I see you there?

My favorite oxford boots ever finally fell apart on me recently, and since they were a huge staple in my wardrobe, I had been on a serious hunt for a replacement. Apparently vintage oxfords have reached the radar of the masses because I could NOT find a vintage replacement that I liked as much or in my size. So I decided to shell out a bit more money for a new pair, and I went with the We Who See Field Boot while urban was having a 20% off shoe sale. They came yesterday and they’re amazing. The only problem is that they’re a tad big, but not enough for me to send them back for a 1/2 size smaller, and I figure that they’ll be good in the winter with some thicker socks anyway. Plus, because they lace up it’s not that much of an issue. They’re insanely comfortable, and seem to be really great quality, something I was nervous about because I have so-so luck with Urban’s quality in shoes.

I haven’t posted about art in a long time, as I haven’t seen much that’s jumped out at me lately that stands out from the rest. But these pieces by Louis Reith immediately grabbed me when I saw them on Genevieve’s blog. I’m so very inspired by them. I don’t know how I missed them when miel et cannelle posted about them a few weeks ago. Lost in the google reader mess, I suppose.
