The Field House

November 4th, 2009

Just like Sessùn stepped inside my brain to make exactly what clothing I want to wear, The Field House has apparently stepped inside my brain to make exactly the kind of store I would love. A pop-up shop by the people behind the Seattle shop Blackbird, they sell basically what I would classify as Everything Amazing. Oh Alyson, I want to hug you for sharing this. I emailed Andrea the moment I saw Alyson’s post informing her that we would be visiting this store when I’m visiting Seattle in December, no exceptions.

Happy 40th Birthday, Sesame Street!

The little kid in the background dancing (head banging?) kills me.

Perfect Tights

November 3rd, 2009

Now that I have a dresser for my socks and tights and such, I organized all of my tights and realized I own an ungodly amount. But you know what? I effing love tights and I don’t care. Bring ‘em on. The older I get the more I want to live in skirts and dresses. Does anyone know where I could get these amazing polka dot tights on this lovely girl in Copenhagen? I love how sophisticated they are, yet still fun. Also, searching for tights leads to some sexy (or shall I say shady?) websites, I’ve learned.

Chigo

November 3rd, 2009

It seems like every blog friend I have is having or just had a baby. Baby mania! That is so far out of my mind right now for me, but that doesn’t mean the girl in me doesn’t dress up my imaginary baby in everything that the adorable Japanese store Chigo has to offer. Andrea posted about Chigo two years ago (whoa time flies!), but Make It Easy reminded me of it’s amazingness today.

Or should I say Bits Of My Sunday? I have terrible jet lag, and on top of the time change and extreme climate change, I’m kind of a zombie. Wendy and I hung out big time today, and I made so many necklaces it hurts a little to type right now. I also noticed that I have a callus on my pointer finger from weaving thread. Which I’m kind of proud of. I also finally listened to NPR’s “Wait Wait…Don’t Tell Me!” tonight while making necklaces and I’m officially hooked. I don’t know what took me so long, it’s like The Daily Show of radio shows.

Well, obviously my plan of live blogging my trip to Phoenix didn’t work out, but that’s okay, the semi-break from the internet was nice. Overall the trip was fun and felt great to get out of NYC for a week, but I was pretty sad that it was basically the exact temperature there it was in NYC the whole time, and then quickly sprang back to 90 the day we left. My swimsuit sat in my bag with a sad face. But it’s safe to say that I saw some of the most incredible scenery of my life in Arizona, especially when we drove a few hours up to Jerome – this tiny little down on the side of a rocky mountain, with crazy beautiful views of Sedona. I think next time we go I definitely want the trip to be longer so we can fit in more time for day trips like that, as that ended up being the only scenic trip we took. It’s hard to fit things in on a roughly 4 day trip to see people you haven’t seen in two years!

Also, all Bits Of My Weekend and this post have clickable photos from now on that lead to the flickr page of each photo. I get asked often about specifics of each photo and it’s hard to fit that all in on each post! It’s like a behind the scenes look. Yeah, I’m that cool with the internets like that.
