Plans for the long weekend: sleeping in, enjoying my new summer haircut, reading a great book, attempting this homemade moonshine from a friend (is it sacrilegious to mix it with something? it’s unbearably strong!), art, a movie or two, and did I mention lounging? Lots of lounging. Lots.

Another roll of film is in my camera, Bits Of My Weekend will be late Tuesday, as Monday is a holiday and I need that extra day to finish the roll!

Posting is/has been light because it feels so fantastic to have free time again lately – I’ve been busy in the evenings catching up with life and have not be good about scheduling posts. I forgot how good it feels to lounge around a read a book, have dinner with girlfriends and talk for hours, and quite frankly – to take a break from the internet and watching tv shows (my favorite thing to do while making necklaces.) I haven’t even watched this week’s Glee episode, but I’m kind of okay with that.

So, two photos lately. Cookies left for me the morning, and Wendy doing what she does best.

I’ll get my act together for normal posting again next week. Friday Bits will still be tomorrow, for I have a haircut to share with you…

Really excited to see that a print by Stacey Rozich – A Day’s Catch – is the latest excellent offering from The Working Proof. Stacey and I have been chatting via email lately (we both grew up in the same area and went to the same college at different times) and I’m happy to find out that she’s just as nice as she is talented.

The prints are an edition of 50, and 15% of each print sold benefits Puppies Behind Bars.

My friend Sara Jensen of Lost Bird Found sent me these patterns she made based on my photo of my arrows. How flipping cool is that? She is such a talented lady, that Sara – as is her little guy Henry, who is way cooler than you. I told her I wanted them as a wrapping paper set, she suggested paper to wrap sandwiches. OMG.

The new Black Keys album, Brothers, is so damn good. You could maybe whine about it not being as raw and gritty as they used to be, but I don’t ever expect a band to do the same thing over and over again. I’m reminded of the change in sound Iron & Wine has gone through – which took me a while to warm up to. It’s a more produced, polished sound – and though it may not be for everyone, it’s something new, and I dig it. And when I need that raw and gritty sound, I’ll just put on Thickfreakness.

Feeling rather blah after two weekends of awesome film shots and being a tourist, but in my defense I spent countless hours this weekend sitting right in that chair above finishing (FINISHING!) a huge project that has been consuming my weekends for ages. I want to throw a damn parade I’m so excited. But I still can’t tell you about it for another month or so, so let’s change the subject. There was a bbq, there was food, there was jogging (6th weekend in a row!), there was Chelsea gallery hopping, there was sleeping in.

That film camera is calling to me again…
