Friday Bits
May 28th, 2010
Plans for the long weekend: sleeping in, enjoying my new summer haircut, reading a great book, attempting this homemade moonshine from a friend (is it sacrilegious to mix it with something? it’s unbearably strong!), art, a movie or two, and did I mention lounging? Lots of lounging. Lots.
Another roll of film is in my camera, Bits Of My Weekend will be late Tuesday, as Monday is a holiday and I need that extra day to finish the roll!
Have a great weekend!

1. The haircut is adorable, and will feel so nice in the sweltering heat
2. PLEASE GIVE is tremendous. You should definitely see it, especially since I read the other day on Roger Ebert’s Twitter (weird!) that more people saw SEX AND THE CITY 2 on its opening night than have seen PLEASE GIVE in its entire run. I wanted to CRY. Not that there’s anything wrong with SATC2, but, you know.
Have a beautiful weekend!

Mix it. One time while visiting my sister in Kentucky we all piled in her car on a little quest. One of the good ol’ boys my brother-in-law works with makes his own moonshine. After about a half an hour of driving through the Kentucky hills we finally came across his place. I don’t know what was funnier, him offering us ice cold Bud that he pulls from his homemade kegerator that he keeps at 27 degrees (the lowest possible temp before Bud freezes) or the fact that his new baby son and dog had the same name. Long story short, we scored some moonshine that almost lit my throat on fire. They said some people mix it with Kool-aid. My guess…you could do better.

your haircut is fantastic. i’ve always been too much of a lame scaredy cat to cut my hair that short (the shortest i’ve gone is like an inch off my shoulder), & i loathe myself a little bit for it because i think short hair is the grandest.

Moonshine + apple juice = strangely yummy. I personally cannot drink the stuff. We got some as a gift from a friend who lives in Nashville and as we were imbibing in Nashville my commentary went something like this ‘hey guyths…isth anthybody elthes tongue numb?’

Hi cutie-is it appropriate to say that I not only love the hair, but the sweet little dimple/indent on the top of your nose? ;)
