Music Monday
This weekend’s music was all about changing my mind. Two bands I felt pretty meh about up until now, and then listened to on constant repeat this weekend (Bitte Orca and Fear Of Music). I don’t know why, but they just weren’t for me until now. Late in the game a little? Yeah, I know. That’s my style sometimes with music, I suppose.
Also, something about these two bands seems very complimentary to me. Maybe it’s because David Byrne and Dave Longstreth have rather similar voices? Maybe it’s because they both were/are making pretty progressive sounding music for their time? The similar guitar sound? And yes yes, I know about this song and love it.
ps. how great is David’s dancing? God I love him.

I love Dirty Projectors, and went to their show at Neumos a few months back. It was PACKED. I had to leave because I was getting so hot and claustrophobic! I did stick around long enough to hear them play both of those songs, though.

I’m glad you’re coming around to the Talking Heads. They were a major part of my college soundtrack and still have a place on my playlist.

Aside from the fairly awful dancing they do at shows, I love Dirty Projectors and am glad you were able to come around. Talking Heads? I still need to listen to more before I can decide.

Dirty Projectors still don’t make sense to me. I feel like I’m missing out on something because I just don’t get it!
Have you heard the Surfer Blood album? Because THAT I am digging. x
