Superstar Meighan of My Love For You Is A Stampede Of Horses has busted her butt to put together one completely amazing fundraiser for the Gulf to benefit The Gulf Restoration Network. Over 80 artists are donating something to the shop she’s putting together, and I’m proud to be one of those people, donating one of my brass drops necklaces. The shop will open on Monday, June 28th, at 12 pm PST (3 pm EST). The necklace will be $35, with free shipping.

Finding too much good music this week to hold for Music Monday.

Something about these foggy road trip photos by new legs grabs a hold of me inside. Taking a vacation to somewhere scenic didn’t satisfy that need, it only made it stronger, I tell ya.

I’m ridiculously picky about blog submissions, especially vintage shops because they all start to look the same after a while. So I was pretty excited to see this vintage shop land in my inbox – Fine & Dandy. I love how simple and wearable everything is, how beautiful and bright the photos are (I want to shout it from the rooftops how important that is!), and the lovely models. Can we talk about how stunning that girl is? Plus they have vintage for guys! Love, love, love.

After seeing this lovely Lykke Li cover of “Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow” I realized a Carole King post was in order for Music Monday. All of these videos are from a live performance on the BBC in 1971. James Taylor makes an appearance in the first video, and I swear my jaw dropped because he looks exactly like my brother right now. I wish I had a photo to compare it to. Anyway, my grandma gave me a copy of Tapestry in 9th grade, and it will always be one of my absolute favorite albums of all time.

It was hot this weekend. I’m talking hot. There was sunbathing on the waterfront, lounging in front of the a/c, a rooftop bbq with ridiculous pork chops, a completely miserable Sunday jog, scouring half of Manhattan for rare sci-fi books (yeah, not for me), the A-Team (totally entertaining), and lots of cheddar bunnies. Always lots of cheddar bunnies, guys. Hope all you poppas (and stand-in poppas, as someone out there put it well this weekend) were well-loved on Sunday, like mine.

Photos I finished off my last roll with. I was about to walk out the door with the first roll when I realized I only had a couple shots left. I usually end with a photo of myself in the mirror. I should start a tradition of always doing that.

This weekend I’m going to bask in some sunshine, go to a rooftop bbq like a good New Yorker, and get myself on a better necklace making schedule (I really need to get a better grip on my business in general.) Part of me wants to ditch Bits Of My Weekend because I am so photo’d out, but I can’t break a habit, so it will probably just be a wee little update. And then we’ll get back to shoes and other such unnecessary needs, I promise. Have a great weekend!

ps. the lovely air plant above want sent to me from toHOLD. It’s my first air plant and I love it love it love it. Hopefully my black thumb give it a rest on this one…
