Bits Of My Weekend

August 30th, 2010

can't get enough
new bags
pizza skyline
deli cat
our salty dog
hello

As always, you can click on the photos to read (possibly) more info about them on flickr!

A weekend that flew, flew, flew by. Highlights include Otto Dix at Neue Galerie (wow, that place is amazing, as was the show), taking Billy to the magical Michaels on the UWS, a pizza picnic, a zine folding/salty dog drinking party (of two), a really great run after three (shameful) weeks off, and I Am Love (wow, wow, wow) with Lisa. Don’t let the smaller amount of photos fool you, I’m just cutting down weekend photos just a touch because sometimes enjoying the moment rather than thinking about what a good photo it would make is good for me. Same goes for twitter. Let moments just be.

Oh I’m sure my boyfriend would love for me to adopt that philosophy of ‘letting the moments be’. He tends to get a bit antsy when I spend 10 minutes trying to photograph a burrito.

    As usual, great photos!

I adore the Neue Galerie! I saw the Klimt exhibit there last time I went and then ate pastries in their yummy cafe. It’s nice to put down the camera sometimes, isn’t it?

Your cat is simply adorable. I’ve never thought of taking pizza to a picnic, I may have to try it!

I agree completely – sometimes I make myself leave my camera at home on the weekends just so I can enjoy the moment – and it usually feels much better :)

Letting moments be = so important! I love just letting moments be at peace, making eye contact, you know, all of the things that we miss out on when we’re staring into an LCD screen. :)

how did you possibly walk by that little kitty and not try to steal her? she would have definitely ended up in my bag and Luna would have gotten herself a new friend.

I’m so glad I’m not the only person who was blown away by I Am Love. It seemed like everyone else in the theatre thought it was appropriate to laugh at all the emotional climaxes :/

PS. Not to sound like a total lush, but I love it when you post drink recipes!

so sad i didn’t steal an evening to see “i am love” before taking off…so delighted you loved it. and otto dix! gives me nightmares!

also, that fjallraven kanken bag? there’s a stylin’ dane here with the same backpack. so global style is alive and well in the himalayan foothills, just fyi.
