Bits Of My Weekend
I told Billy that due to having a pretty crappy week, we could do whatever he wanted on Saturday, no questions asked. So that is how we ended up at a Mets game. Watching a baseball game is like watching paint dry to me, but at least it’s the perfect excuse to eat food that’s bad for you (Shake Shack at Citi Field FTW!) and people watch. Plus it was unbelievably gorgeous out, so it wasn’t all bad. Later that night we wished good friends a happy birthday while I tried to become a person who can drink whiskey on the rocks (fail). Sunday I didn’t get dressed until 6pm (true story) when I headed out to meet Lisa for a special showing of Ferris Bueller’s Day Off during the Film Society’s John Hughes day. His family was there, and Jason Reitman introduced the movie, PLUS we saw Molly Ringwald leaving Pretty In Pink! All in all, totally worth putting pants on.
Also, it wasn’t over the weekend, but I just wanted to mention that my jewelry class started last night and it went fantastic! I love everyone in the class and my nervousness melted away pretty quickly. Lena is really wonderful and I’d highly recommend taking one of the classes at her studio! Plus she has the best dachshund on the planet. I can’t wait for next week’s class already.

Ha! That`s how I feel about baseball, too. The Shake Shack sounds amazing! I love a good burger and shake combo. No judgment for order three burgers, I would have done the same and still gone for the fries.
So glad to hear you`re having fun teaching your jewelery making class! Like I said on Twitter, wish I was there, too.

Hooray for John Hughes movies! Sounds like tons of fun. And I feel the same about baseball games – anytime it’s on at home, I take the opportunity to do my nails. ;) Glad to hear your class went well!

Awesome weekend!
Stadium food is the best. I went to a Twin games in August and probably consumed 40,000 calories. SO worth it.

Kate, your blog is by far one of my favorites. When going through my googlereader list I usually save your blog for last, knowing I’ll always end on a good note. All that said, I just had to comment that I love love love that photo of wendy and your shoes. I’m taking a footwear design class while studying in florence and after seeing so many painfully decorated sketches in crits, it is wonderful to see someone with such a lovely collection of simple, elegant shoes (and such a cute cat to go with them).

I always see it as a mark of a true adult, to be able to drink something on the rocks. I will never get there. I’m convinced that half the time people are kidding when they say they like it. Ha!

What a lovely collection of shoes! I’m always inspired when I read your blog, today I’m inspired to re-watch some John Hughes movies! Wish I lived on the East Coast to take some of the classes at Lena’s studio. I love hearing about them through the blog world.

Oh Wendy, that hussy. To be surrounded by such a largesse of beautiful footwear is such a privilege. I hope she knows that. And I’m boycotting the doxie. My love quotient for low-riding canines is reserved exclusively for Biscuit. But god is he cute.
