Bits For Now

I took a bold move and shot only a roll of film on my lomo lc-a+ while in LA last week. Bold because my camera is a bit finicky and I loaded the first roll incorrectly, and I wasn’t super jazzed about the second roll. But, I think it’s a good outdoor film, and since sunshine a’plenty was what we experienced in LA, I feel pretty confident there will at least be a few gems when I pick it up tomorrow. For now, a few shots of one of the most amazing beaches I’ve ever been to – El Matador – just past the main part of Malibu. It was a serious trek to get there from where we were staying in Burbank, but so incredibly worth it. We climbed the rocks and let the water wash over us for hours – I haven’t felt that relaxed and peaceful in so long. I need a real beach like this closer to me…

Also, a couple photos of my students busy at work making jewelry. They’re all pretty dang inspiring and thinking of ideas and designs that have never crossed my mind before. I was buzzing with inspiration after class last week! I’ll be sure to take photos of some of the final projects next week.

Film photos + more stories to come tomorrow!

El Matador is especially beautiful, it’s a beach with a lot of personality.

I would love to take one of your classes.
Unfortunately for me, you are not located in Phoenix. So I suppose I’m going to have to learn on my own!
But hoping that you could maybe offer me some advice on where to get the chains? Is that even the right word? I’ve looked at craft stores but they just seem to have really cheap materials.

    THANKS!

El Matador beach!! I’ve always called it the elephant beach because of one part of the eroded cliff (3rd picture?). The photos came out so lovely :-)
