Some favorite finds from the blogosphere this week…
Two lovely, affordable pieces at Fancy Fresh Cologne. via Andrea’s Pinterest

I love Brian’s post about medium-format photos. Oh how I’d love to take a Hassy out for a spin.

I feel like I’m the only person I know who didn’t really enjoy A Single Man, but I did enjoy the house in it. Which, lucky for those of you with extra 1.6 million clams, is for sale. via Freckle Farm

Very inspired by these Northern Plains necklaces on Nothing Is New.

File under: dream home inspiration. Sarah Illenberger’s home on Freunde von Freunden via SeeSaw
Lastly, I’m not feeling very in the spirit of Halloween this year, but Pia served up a splendid post of witchy images I love. All I can offer that is slightly as frightening is this photo of me when I was 3 or 4 with giant 80′s hair that I found the other night. Or pageant hair, as Sara pointed out. My mother was a hairdresser when I was a kid, what can I say? Terrifying. Anyone else have an awesome past hair photo to share? Point me in the direction of it in the comments.
Have a spooky weekend, friends!

Wow, that hair is amazing! And least it was styled, you should check out mine. Apparently, my mother just let it get way out of hand! http://dreamingofpalmtrees.blogspot.com/2010/08/happy-birthday-karina.html
I am in the bottom photo on the right side. My hair is so flat now I can’t believe it was even capable of doing that at one point. Sigh… glad those years are over!
Love your blog btw. xo!

Aw, I’m always kind of sad when I hear someone didn’t like a movie that I thought was absolutely beautiful. Ah well. Too bad you’re not in the Halloween spirit this year. I am finding that I am more than ever. I don’t know what did it to me but my mom is throwing a bash tonight to show off her home that has been turned into a haunted house. I can’t imagine that didn’t help!

I used to dream of having a Hasselblad back when I was in college. One of my classmates had one and all of us photo majors coveted it. But I must say I was (and am) very happy with my Rolleicord and subsequent Rolleiflex… I think I need to pull out the Rolleiflex and shoot some film soon–it will be the first time in years!

I like how Sarah Illenberger has her framed photos bottom-aligned.

very nice! I love that idea for storing jewelry! I’m acquiring quite a collection of cheap and cheerful rings which wouldlook great like that.

I cut alllll my hair off before my dad’s second marriage. Let’s just say it was a bad omen. No pictures though, I think they were burned! The one of you on flickr is ADORABLE!

Amazing hair! You look really excited too! Very adorable.
I really love those letterpress drawers or whatever they are to use as teensy shelves for little things.

Hello there, 1st time caller long time listener from New Zealand. I also found A Single Man uninspiring and have found myself thus far alone in my dissent. It is good to hear that someone shares my view! However I though it would have made a great print catalouge for awesome mid century furniture and I coveted a LOT of those plush items. But I found it too styled to be believable. Kinda static and over polished no?

the 4 year old haircut? holy god. priceless.
a single man? the house? yes. absolutely. a million percent.
the parts of that film did not make a great whole.
as a director, tom ford took his vast knowledge of fashion to create an amazing look… but he knows little of the messiness of human emotion. which was what that story was lacking.
sigh.
i could go on.
