Bits Of My Weekend

(click on the photos for possibly more info on flickr)
Things I am thankful for from these bits:
Five day weekends (not planned, I came down with something Tuesday night and took Wednesday off to get better before our flight)
Short flights
Ohio quiet
The fact that everything on your Thanksgiving plate can be placed together on your fork and into your mouth as one perfect harmonious bite
Generous, wonderful family
A new car to soon be our safe chariot across the states
Freaks & Geeks to wind the evenings down
Birthday boys
Birthday drinks, dinner & dessert
Birthday bacon
Astral Weeks on repeat
One last movie date with Lauren (Harry Potter)
A little bit of calm before the storm
Also: a reminder about the shop update heads up in case you missed it Saturday!

Wow! I’ve been gone from the blog world pretty much the whole month of November writing a novel for NaNoWriMo and had no idea you area moving to LA! How exciting! I’ve been wanting to do the opposite and move to NY for a year. I know I’ll do it eventually. I wish you luck moving. That’s always shitty. I live an hour from LA in Ventura where I grew up, but I lived and worked in Culver City and Santa Monica for five years before moving back home so you can add me to your LA list :)

2 questions…1. What are those cocktails? Eggnog-tinis or something? and 2..How do you get your cat to pose for photos? LOL! My cat conveniently blinks when the camera is on her!! Thanks for the great post -Lili

Lili, if you click on the image of the cocktails there’s a recipe (well, sort of) definitely not egg nog!
Wendy is just a total ham, I guess:)

Oh, I love this — seemingly random snapshots can tell such a story. Lovely set.

That photo of Wendy engrossed in William’s (iPhone? PSP? DS?) is perfect.

I don’t know why but something about this post is sad, but yet exciting. You can sense the goodbye and new beginnings.

Love the flamboyant red cardinal vs. drab grey titmouse face-off.
What a metaphor for LA vs. NYC this time of year. I think it’s a good sign!
xo and best of luck with all that packing.
(Also, a packing tip that’s come in handy in all our moves: If you pack your clothes/comforter/sheets/towels/pillows, etc. in plastic garbage bags before cramming into cardboard boxes, consider throwing a nice-smelling all-natural dryer sheet in there. That way everything won’t stink like plastic/cardboard/new car when you unpack, and the plastic bags will keep out moisture and other nasty things that might leak through the cardboard boxes.

Ooooh I spy one Steven Pinker book on your shelves! Other people’s book shelves are the greatest…

Danielle, not our bookshelves! We were in Ohio at my boyfriend’s parents’ house. Our book collection is pretty pathetic now from slimming it down to move!
