Pixie Market right now
November 2nd, 2010

I’m currently on a shopping ban til the end of the year (more on that later) and it’s Currently. Very. Hard.
Pixie Market right now, killin’ it as always. Oh, those colors.

Funny you should say shopping ban, I’ve been working out a similar sort of agreement with myself. It’s so hard to be surrounded by such well dressed people all the time, I know new york is the same way. But the exchange rate is killing it for me. Here I thought I was bargain hunting and then I get around to multiplying it out and that twenty euro dress I bought at zara… not so much a deal anymore. Uhf.

I was thinking of doing the same, it’s just so hard for me! hopefully I will learn to cut down on my thrifting/shopping habits :)

I’ve developed a shopping protocol for myself. Anytime I want to buy something, I have to donate or sell one or a few things from my closet. This only works if you know exactly which items you are willing to give up before you take the plunge and get something new. Don’t resist your love for clothes and shopping–adapt to it!
(Sorry, that didn’t help, did it? Haha!)

good for you — i’ve always thought i needed to do a shopping ban, but i’ve never been able to. i set a budget for myself for the first time and i’m having trouble enough with that.
good luck!
and, these clothes and colors are really great.

I can totally relate. It’s so hard for me to not shop, it’s my favorite past time! I’ve been hitting thrift stores hard for the money reason and so far it’s worked out pretty good. Oh, the temptation!

The holidays always make me extra greedy for some reason! So counterproductive…

My roommate and I once fasted from buying clothes for an entire year. It sounds impossible ( I certainly thought it was) but it wasn’t as hard as you might think PLUS it feels SO liberating! Hope your ban leaves you feeling refreshed!
