The Ballerina Project
November 4th, 2010

I’ve always had such a fascination with ballerinas. Maybe because I can’t even touch my toes, so the idea of dancing that gracefully and almost otherworldly is pure magic to me. The Ballerina Project – photos of ballerinas in very different spots around NYC – is so lovely. I love the contrast between the dancers and the space around them.

Gorgeous! I have a major fascination with dancers too, they do seem magical! And full of pure, unadulterated muscle. I can’t even imagine being that in-shape, or that flexible!

These are beautiful images. I love the contrast of the soft facial expressions and extremely strong poses. Beautiful, especially the second one.

Having a ballerina daughter who is also a photographer – this really caught my eye. I love the contrast of the ballerina posed against the more grungy city-scapes Thanks for sharing. I will certainly be passing this on.

I miss being able to have such great form. I love the photos so much. I hope my daughter follows in my footsteps and becomes a beautiful and well disciplined ballerina like these ladies.
