It’s been gloomy and rainy pretty often lately here in LA. I’ve been thinking that I need to make a mix to listen to in a rain for a while now, but haven’t had time until now. Diana’s Ships In The Night mix has been on repeat for me lately, and it reminded me that I finally needed to make my own mellow mix:

Love your blog, and this music post is great!
I love mellow ‘cafe’ music like this and I particularly love looking out of a rainy window while listening to it, or listening to mellow music on long train journeys watching the countryside go by <3

Aaah, this is the perfect picture for a rainy day. Hopefully the rain’s cleared up by now. (Up here in the San Fran bay area, we got deluged with rain these past few weeks too!)

I lived in Santa Barbara for two years and really noticed the difference between Cali music and Seattle music. It’s funny, your mellow mix includes a lot of music that we listen to all the time up here. Whenever I would play it in SB, my friends would always say that my music belonged in a Seattle coffeehouse on a rainy day and make me turn it off. Are you an Alexi Murdoch fan? He’s like Nick Drake’s reincarnation. And if it’s going to keep raining down there, you might want to check him out!
Oh, and LOVE the video of Wendy – how freaking adorable is your cat? Stretched out kitty toes just KILL me.

one of my favorite playlists during college was called ‘the mellow mix.’ this reminds me of it and i love it, especially the last song by jose gonzalez.
