Bits Of My Weekend

click on the photos for more info on flickr!
A long weekend with finding lots of excuses to ride my bike, which just gets more amazing the more confident I get riding and I learn the streets of Venice and Santa Monica. Kate – amazing, amazing Kate, gave me to tickets to see her incredible production of RENT in a secret warehouse downtown, which was quite an experience. I also finished all the necklaces, had a quick shoot, and then rode my bike to meet up with a blog reader who I sold my beloved Digital Rebel to. Hopefully he has lots of new adventures with her. I also finished book two of The Hunger Games (possibly even better than the 1st??), ate bbq kebabs (required Memorial Day bbq’ing), and declared it a wonderful weekend.

Looks like a grand weekend! I’m jealous of your barbecue weather – I’m starting to think British summer burnt itself out in April!
I just read about your cleanse diet on Flickr – sounds tough! I’m not sure I could be so disciplined, but that granola does look delicious (and the colours in the photograph are amazing), so perhaps it’s not all bad! I like the picture of the purple asparagus too – I didn’t even know you could get purple asparagus!

Ooh,
I love the bracelets even more now that I know the scale of them! Great that you made them chunky!
Beautiful photos as always Kate.

So glad you had such a lovey weekend! Mine was awesome too. I think this year I might finally remember what I did on Memorial Day (isn’t it funny how you always remember the 4th from year to year but not Memorial Day?). :) The new bracelets look gorgeous!

Love the new baggu! Looks like they fixed the straps so that they don’t cinch the pack like before. Good move! Mine always get so uneven when I try to close it up.

mmm, that asparagus looks delicious. (so do the tulips! my god – the colour on those babies!)
i think wendy might have to have her own line of locket necklaces, with limited edition shots of her (barfing rainbow, anyone?) pasted inside. she is SO.CUTE. <333

hurrah to the biking confidence! I’m a bike lover who just isn’t safe on an urban bike; too much head turning to look at all the shiny things around (or the trucks bearing down upon me). But now I’ve been dragged out of the city, I find the distractions easier to bear. And feel like a kid on my shiny new bike.

GAHHHHHHHHH!!!!! Insert happy freak-out noises [here].
Because Kate (Amazing, Amazing Kate) is my best friend in real life. As in we went to high school together and she’s pretty much like THE single most incredible, generous, loving, hilarious, brilliant, visionary person I’ve ever met in my life. This makes me insanely happy that my blog world collided with my real world. YAY!

I fully endorse the reading of The Hunger Games Trilogy…and not just because I am a librarian, because they are THAT GOOD.
p.s. I think Catching Fire was the best, too.
Cheers!
