Weekly Goods

February 29th, 2012

Thank you all for your wonderful comments on my Bits Of My Weekend (or lack thereof) post. Your support and kindness forever keeps me going. I don’t have any plans to get rid of other weekly features right now, as it keeps me on schedule and I still feel inspired with other things I post about. So on that note, some gems I’ve fallen in love with lately with no particular theme…

1. Lars Beller Fjetland’s beautiful Re-Turned birds, made from leftover wood. via It’s Nice That.
2. Simple Arrow Tail by Halona Glass. Treated myself to this beauty over the weekend, I’ll be sure to share a photo when it comes. via Danica
3. Vintage Jim McBride Fabrik plates. I’d love to collect this pattern, it’s so seventies Pacific Northwest.
4. Madewell holepunch sandal. Perfection. A more affordable answer to those Steven Alan babies I covet.
5. Louise Bourgeois Be Calm poster. Saw this at the MOCA store last weekend and it’s been on my brain ever since as Louise is a hero of mine. I’m a little done with inspirational message prints, but it’s Louise and I’m afraid I’m in need of this reminder a lot lately.

I think I might even prefer the Madewell sandals to the Steven Alan ones. But then again, did they garner any hate on pinterest? Love the open toe!

I just ordered the holepunch sandals as a steven allan alternative a few days ago, though they might end up being better than since your toes aren’t covered. Great roundup!

Ohh I want to hear how you like them! I need to go to a store to buy them because with CA tax and shipping, it was a bit much to swallow right now. Figure I can save myself the $10 and get out of my apartment, ha.

The thought of driving to the fancy suburban mall to try them on was too much for me to handle, plus they’re doing free shipping over $100 so I threw in a bathing suit? Ha, I’m ready for summer apparently (as it’s snowing in Chicago). They’re arriving Monday…I’ll let you know how they are!

I’m loving those Madewell sandals too. Hell, I’m pretty much loving everything Madewell is putting out right now. So good. Nice round-up!

I love that you posted the Jim McBride plates. I’m a fan, too. I spotted some on Etsy just yesterday.

I love Louise sooo much. I saw her work at the Louisiana (apropos) in Denmark. All I remember thinking is WHY hadn’t anyone told me about her? Why?
