Very cool. And may I suggest that we are oddly telepathically linked because I just upgraded my dslr from a 1000D to 550D. Not as good as the 60D but still an upgrade for me. ;)
Love the fun framing of your cat in the first photo.

i have the 60D and i guess it comes down to full frame vs not. for the majority of my use, o non full frame fills the bill right now, and it was far less money. one thing i highly recommend is the 17-55 it is a fantastic all purpose lens, opens wide, stops down to 2.8 AND it is specifically made for non full frame cameras...no sense buying prime if you can get the full effect anyway. enjoy it!

I read a ton up on this and many say that the difference between the 60D and 7D are virtually unnoticeable! Obviously a 5D would be the best, but I only shoot maybe 2 weddings a year and mostly shoot film, so it would be insane for me to spend an extra 1k on one. I believe that using great lenses and talent is worth more. You can always rent fancy lenses, too, for certain events. But if photography is your main profession (unlike me), a 5D might make total sense as an investment. I don't know too many people who recommend the 7D, but I'm sure there are people out there who swear by it.

The 60D seems like a great camera but for wedding/action photography, wouldn't a 7D make more sense? I'm on the fence between a 7D and 5D. I'm looking to do lots of portraits, possible wedding (and other "events"), and nature shots. Any advice? Thoughts?

I love your shots, by the way!

digital has it's uses, film has it's uses. one does not replace the other, but it's a good thing to do both!
