(Sort of) Friday Bits

I’m in the midst of an insane deadline this week and next (if I owe you an email, I apologize!), so in lieu of Friday Bits, here are some of my Instagram photos this week. I know some of you have missed Wendy, anyway. I downloaded the Vsco app, which is pretty awesome, if you haven’t used it.
ps. This is amazing, and I will be talking more about it later, when I can come up for a moment to breathe.

also, i’m so, SO glad that the blogosphere is starting to wake up to smell its own (perfectly-brewed) coffee + realize that having a blog that only showcases perfection is depressing, anxiety-creating, and maybe even a little bit boring. (i can only take so many expensive-designer-styled homes, especially living in a rental unit!) anyway…i look forward to your thoughts on it, and i can’t wait to hear people’s real thoughts on real life, through the ‘things i’m afraid to tell you’ section. thanks for the head’s up! :)

Yay Wendy! My husband is obsessed with putting sunglasses on our cats, so he appreciated that picture as much as I did.
Also, I just finished reading “Things I’m Afraid to Tell You,” and I appreciated it so much. It’s nice to get a dose of reality, especially because I have a bad, bad habit of comparing myself to others. I assume that other people’s lives are better or that they made the right choices when I see their amazing vacation photos or their expensive new whatever on blogs or Facebook or wherever. It’s a helpful reminder that no one’s life is all sunshine and rainbows and that we frequently share only what we want others to see (i.e., the good stuff), and I’m just as guilty of it as anyone else. I choose the photos where I’m not squinting or making a weird face and where my clothes look nice; I don’t take pictures of outfits that didn’t quite work out.
