This must be the place

I’m so in love with LA lately and I can’t help but get a stupid grin on my face and light up when people ask me how I like it here.

Are you from LA originally? I have such a conflicted relationship with this city and always find it surprising when people proclaim their love for it. In fact, I’m just sort of jealous. In any case, lovely photo of the (super ?) moon.

Nope, I’ve only lived here for a year and half after a long stint in NYC. I’m originally from the Seattle area.

Having lived in LA during my “what the heck am i doing with my life” years and hailing from the Carolinas, my experience there was more along the lines of Alix’s. I don’t think I ever saw a street so empty during my time there! I guess perspective really is everything. These photos are lovely (per usual) and look like they were taken by a lady who’s found her way.

It took me 2.5 years to love LA. I moved here almost 4 years ago from the east coast and it was a rocky transition, but now things are going swimmingly. I love the top photo in this post, just another reminder of LA’s wonderful light and hidden views.

Fantastic! It’s the best feeling to love where you are… I’ve been roaming for about 6 years now and still haven’t found that place. Also, your nod to the Talking Heads made me smile… I’m currently trying to learn how to play it on the ukulele while also making prints incorporating the song. Swoon.

GOOD NEWS, Kate Miss. That’s so great to hear you’ve fallen for it. I’m still plotting my bicoastal life: apartment in Brooklyn, shack in Joshua Tree, bungalow in Silverlake. Now I just have to figure out how to FINANCE it all…

I am an east coast transplant here and I feel I fall deeper in love every year. It’s got problems, sure, but what a town!

I’m jealous. I’m still trying to find my home. I thought I had found it when I moved back to Austin, but now, a couple of years later, I’m not so sure. Anyway, your pictures are beautiful.

I love the these photos! I moved 2 years ago after living in LA for 10 years, and these images make me feel really nostalgic for the best parts about living there.

I’ve been having similar revelations about this city as of late. It’s funny how your love of it can one day just smack you right in the face, like you didn’t even see it coming. But then BOOM! You’re in its clutches.
