Weekly Music: New David Byrne
David Byrne is involved in some wonderful new music right now: a song on Seattle composer Jherek Bishoff’s fantastic new album, Composed, which also features other talented musicians like Mirah. You can listen to the album on Spotify here or Bandcamp here (and buy it!)
Also in the pipeline is a new album with St Vincent, Love This Giant, and I could not have thought of a better collaboration if I tried. The album isn’t due til September, but a single is available to download for free right now, and it’s a perfect mix of sound from the two of them. I’m extremely excited to hear it in its entirety.

i’m seeing st. vincent in august when she comes to maine for a mini-festival-ish thing with mumford and sons & some other bands (http://www.gentlemenoftheroad.com/portland/). he’s not listed on the website, but here’s hoping that david byrne just decides to show up as well. as an added bonus. since it’s so close to when their album is going to be released. maine is lovely in the summer after all…. i’m sure he’d appreciate it.

I REALLY love his music BUT remind me if we ever bump into each other or hang to tell you what a drama queen he is.
