Around home

Yesterday I wrapped up my first legit photo shoot for my jewelry line for my first legit seasonal collection (all grown up, sniffle), and in preparation I tested out a new finder for my Mamiya (metered prism, the jam!) to make sure it worked and was up for the job, and the lighting situation in my apartment as we shot it here – all on film! I didn’t have time to give much thought to the shots as I needed to blow through it asap, but I decided to capture some little things around our new place I like. I’ve grown to love this place already, and am really into our new neighborhood.

I love how bright your place is! God, those last two photos are beautiful!
How do you like the metered prism? I have the waist level finder and love it to death, but yeah, having a metered finder is very convenient.

I love it so much more! My waist level’s focusing screen was broken so it was just a little black circle, making focusing totally impossible. I like how nice it is to frame a shot, but I like that with this one now I can do vertical shots and align them easier, before it was so tricky. And having a meter is kind of a dream. I got it on ebay for only $100, which I thought was kind of a steal for how convenient it is.

Yeah, I bet it would make a difference in framing. I’m never sure how straight my shots are going to be and I’ve never been able to take a straight shot, so the wlf isn’t an improvement for me. $100 isn’t bad at all! Does it go to 1/1000th?

My camera only goes to 1/500th, so no.

Have you read the hunger games? The first shot reminds me of it! I’ve been wanting to shoot a bow and arrow soooo bad since reading the series. :)

That’s it! I’ve had enough! I’m ordering a new Pentax. My lens is busted, and it’s just cheaper to buy a new cam than fix it. All of your film hullabaloo has gotten the best of me. I’M SO INSPIRED I’M GOING TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT.
