Music Mix: Farewell, Summer
I thought that if maybe I made a mix bidding farewell to summer, fall would magically appear in LA and the 90+ temps would, well, melt away. And to my amazement, after finishing this yesterday, I woke up to 63 degrees and the need for PANTS. It’s already burning off and heating up, but anything below 85 makes me cry tears of joy. I’ll just keep listening to this on repeat until 75 is the high for at least a solid week.

SUCH GOOD ONES in here KM! Is there a new El Perro Del Mar album out? Must go investigate poste haste. I’ve been listening to Sun on repeat since NPR put the album out on First Listen a few months ago, and holy sh*t has it helped usher in a paradigm shift in the studio. Also a little late to the party and been meaning to pipe up about these, but I’m crazy about the new amulets. Keep doing what you’re doing, woman. I’m secretly hoping you end up casting those babies in BRASS. Yup.
ALSO, A MAC/BISCUIT/MACKEREL PIC FOR YOU ON bB. Full-frontal sleeping corgyn face. Just for you. Bless his tender little 12-year-old soul I f*cking love that dog more than life itself. Siiiigh.
One last thing; I take evil pleasure that this time of year in NY is the only time of year we have SoCal beaten, weather-wise. That said, just give it another few weeks and I’ll be searching Kayak for flights to the desert. xoxo

A new album is coming soon! It’s just the single I keep hearing on KCRW every. freaking. night. So good. And I totally agree about the Cat Power album!! It motivates me like nobodies business in the studio.
AND! Casting them would cost 100 million dollars, but I’m trying to get this brass clay thing to work. The kiln I bought was broken so NOTHING has worked out for me yet, so hopefully someday that will get figured out so more brass things that are not 100 million dollars can happen!!
NYC in June and October is a memory in my mind that makes me want to weep right now. It’s so. perfect. Lucky you. I’ll pray for you during February, however :D
