Weekly Music

I’m positively slammed with work right now so all I can muster are music posts for the time being. Which I keep up thanks to your awesome positive feedback about them lately.

New Future Islands makes me giddy as everything they put out makes me feel so dang good. I love a unique voice, and Samuel T. Herring certainly delivers that magic. “Seasons (Waiting On You)” is from their forthcoming album Singles.

Another new Beck song! “Waking Light” is a slow jam beauty.

Not new, but Will saw Nosaj Thing a couple weeks ago at the Echoplex and had me listen to his last album as he thought I’d be into it. Correct! I recognized Kazu Makino of Blonde Redhead’s voice immediately as I was just having a nostalgic moment for them a couple weeks ago, which was a funny coincidence.

Happy listening!

I almost never comment but wanted to say a big THANK YOU for introducing me to new music! My husband thanks you as well, he has walked into the kitchen numerous times while I have a song you posted playing and is immediately intrigued. What a public service you are providing, truly!

I just found your blog via your chocolate chip cookie recipe (which is the best, BTW – I made it the day after it came it in the NY Times), and love it! I have had “Balance” by Future Islands on repeat for the past week. They have such a great sound. And Beck is always a good decision. :)

I’ll be following for more kitchen playlist inspiration. :)
